Haq Nawaz

Haq Nawaz is a religious scholar with an M.A. in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Jamia Ashrafia, where he developed profound expertise in Quranic sciences, Arabic morphology, and Islamic jurisprudence. Alongside his traditional education, he is a Ph.D. scholar in Computer Science at COMSATS University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and data science. His unique blend of religious and technical expertise enables him to integrate classical Islamic studies with modern computational techniques, fostering innovation in Islamic knowledge accessibility and digital transformation.

Haq Nawaz’s research spans Quranic morphology, Arabic NLP, and computational linguistics, focusing on areas such as automated question-answering systems, computational approaches to Arabic morphology, and annotated datasets for Quranic and classical Arabic text. He has also demonstrated technical excellence by winning prestigious software competitions, including NaSCon 2019 at FAST-NUCES and Brainiac 2018 at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. Additionally, he was a finalist in the first international Quranthon hackathon, ranking in the top 13 out of over 1,000 participants, showcasing his ability to combine technical innovation with Islamic scholarship.

With extensive experience in developing Islamic software for desktop, web, and mobile platforms, Haq Nawaz has spearheaded projects that apply AI and NLP to Quranic studies and Arabic linguistics. These include systems for Quranic word tagging, Arabic conjugation, and multilingual annotated datasets. His work continues to bridge the gap between tradition and technology, empowering global audiences to engage with Islamic texts in the modern era.
