2nd International Islamic Art Festival
The 2nd International Islamic Art Festival, held in Lahore and Rawalpindi, was a grand celebration of the rich heritage of Islamic art. Scheduled for 2022, this prestigious event brought together acclaimed calligraphers and artists from 17 nations, including renowned Turkish calligraphers Davut Bektash and Dogan Cagan. Organized in collaboration with IRCICA, the festival earned global recognition under the distinguished leadership of Irfan Qureshi and the expert curation of Safeer Qureshi.
The festival showcased an engaging lineup of workshops, offering participants the chance to immerse themselves in various art forms, including calligraphy, miniature art, ceramic art, and the Turkish art of ebru (marbling). Enhancing the cultural experience, Sufi nights provided a spiritual and artistic ambiance, making the festival an unforgettable occasion for art enthusiasts and cultural aficionados.
This celebration of creativity and tradition not only highlighted the vibrancy of Islamic art but also solidified Lahore and Rawalpindi’s status as pivotal centers for cultural and artistic excellence in Pakistan.
